Steve’s poetry focuses on places and space that have influenced his life, as well as the topics that crop up in his visual art. These topics merge to create lucid maps, social analysis and dreamscapes in his writing.

In January 2020 he recorded Gascoigne with Jay Laker, a film maker in Southend, as a part of a project to raise awareness around the problem of homelessness in Southend-on-Sea

In 2017, he performed the poem ‘To Be Still is Not to Be’ on Barking’s Poetic Impact platform.

In 2019, he was commissioned by Essex Cultural Diversity Partnership’s Grays+ Me project to create a ‘Spoken Word Map’ of Grays.

His debut poetry collection is forthcoming on Whisky and Beards Publishers (date pending).
